Where island childhood begins
SPS Kejora is a small, warm preschool on Karimunjawa where children aged 3 to 6 spend their mornings singing, painting, gardening and learning in Indonesian, English and Javanese.
Our approach is play-based and rooted in the natural environment of the island. Every day includes movement, storytelling, art, free play and time outdoors, because childhood should feel like childhood.
Children develop essential early skills, cognitive, motoric and life skills, through fun, holistic and nature-based activities designed to support their growth and curiosity.
Nature is our classroom
Our garden, the beach, the mangroves and the forest are all part of the curriculum. Children learn about the tides, the birds overhead, the vegetables they grow, and how to care for the island that cares for them.
Each week the children step outside to explore, get their hands dirty and discover Karimunjawa through their senses. From planting rice in the sawah to snorkelling in shallow reef pools, learning happens in the places we love most.

School days & hours
Our week runs Monday to Friday, with mornings shaped around a calm, familiar rhythm that helps every child settle in and feel at home.

Accessible for every island family
Fees are kept intentionally low so that every family on the island can join. Two age groups, two clear monthly rates.
Everyone deserves a chance
Every child on Karimunjawa deserves the chance to start school, whatever their family circumstances. Scholarships are available to support children who need a helping hand, funded entirely by our donors and partners.
