A quiet, welcoming space on Karimunjawa where books, curiosity and community come together.
The Kejora Open Community Library sits inside our basecamp on Karimunjawa, a short walk from the main harbour. It's free, open to everyone, and designed to feel like a second living room for the island.
Children come here after school to read, play games and finish homework. Parents and teachers borrow bilingual books to use at home. Volunteers, visitors and remote workers drop in for quiet reading hours. Every Sunday, the doors open wide for our weekly community session, with story times, activities and small workshops.
The collection is small but carefully chosen: bilingual picture books, Indonesian and English readers, nature and environment titles about Karimunjawa, and reference books for older students and adults.
Indonesian and English books for children, teens and adults, curated for our island community.
Free to use for children, families, students, teachers and visitors of Karimunjawa.
Open community sessions every Sunday, plus scheduled reading and story-time slots during the week.
Located in our Kejora basecamp on Karimunjawa, next to our classrooms and learning garden.
The library is just one of the places where our community comes together. Join us for a workshop, a cultural night, a playground afternoon or a beach clean.
