KLS Kejora Language School
Practical English for the island, for children who dream big, and for adults who welcome guests to Karimunjawa every day.
KLS is our largest program by number of students. It gives the children of Karimunjawa access to the English they'll need for secondary school and beyond, and it gives the adults working in tourism the confidence to hold a real conversation with the visitors they welcome to the island.
Classes are small, warm and focused on speaking. We keep the price near zero so that anyone on the island who wants to learn English can walk through the door.
Kids' classes
Weekly English classes for children of primary and secondary school age, grouped by level. Songs, games, storytelling and short conversations, always more speaking than grammar drills.
Adults working in tourism
Homestay owners, guides, dive shop staff, cooks and drivers, practical English for the specific situations they face at work every day. Because tourism is Karimunjawa's economy, and language is the door.
Frequently Asked Questions.
How much do KLS classes cost?
We keep fees very low and offer full scholarships to anyone who cannot pay. No one on Karimunjawa should miss out on English because of money.
I'm a native English speaker visiting Karimunjawa, can I help?
Yes, get in touch through our Volunteer page. Long-term visitors with a teaching background are especially welcome.
